Free workshop for Kids

On Saturday May 31st I participated in a free workshop for kids organized by the Easels of Frederick and offered by the Griffin Art Center. Christopher Madden and I, both artist residents at the Griffin, and Walter Bartman, artist and co-founder of the Griffin showed kids from 8 to 17 how much fun it is to paint outdoors.

I had the pleasure to be chosen for a lovely group of 10 aspiring artists ages between 8-10. It was a lot of fun to see how creative these kids were. It was a perfect afternoon in Baker Park. So much fun !!

My group painted with oil sticks on paper. It was a well organized event. A fantastic day and the weather was just perfect.  At the end of the afternoon the kids were excited to get a free critique of their works of art by Walter Bartman. There will be a show of all the paintings in the Griffin Art Center until the end of June.
